So, once again, its been a while since I've written a blog...probably cause I wasn't sure on what to write. Then I thought I never wrote about my weekend away camping in June! WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?! (Clearly I wasn't)
I loved it. I've forgotten how much I love camping, just being out there in nature, looking for animals or even just chilling by the fire....and freezing to almost death in the tent! It was just an absolute great time...I really miss it. I had a great time, as usual, with my camera at my side, snapping away at God's wonderful creation. I think the highlight was seeing a lion (my first time at Pilansberg), a fish eagle catch a fish, as well as a king fisher who was kind enough to sit nearby with its fish it caught.
Anyway, I came away from the weekend thinking, I really need to fix my tent pole and find a camping buddy to go camping with. I switched a lot between cars, depending on where my nephew and niece were. Was slightly awkward being the only single person (also odd one out) but was a good time getting to know the people who came with us....but you know, sometimes we miss the real beauty of God's creation - man/woman. We, myself included, get so wrapped up with nature and animals and the beauty of it, and yet we don't look for the beauty in others around us....we who are created in HIS image. It's just something that's struck me a few times lately...so I'm just throwing it out there. But I did enjoy the weekend camping, being out in the "wild" and I'm truly thankful to God for creating the animal, birds, landscape, dams and rivers inland for us to enjoy and marvel....and I cant wait to go camping again.
